Wacky Pumpkin Painting & Wonderful Water at SLA
Laconia

Give pumpkins makeovers while talking about local farms and their sustainable practices around the lake

More

Date: October 23rd
Time: 4:30pm – 6:30pm

Join LRCC member Sam to paint and beautify some unsightly gourds. While we give our pumpkins a makeover we’ll talk about local farms and their sustainable practices around the lake. Learn how unsustainable practices can affect the watershed.

A watershed is an area of land that includes a river or lake and all the surrounding streams and rivers that flow into it. When rain falls onto the ground it soaks into the soil and eventually seeps into the nearest stream that feeds into bigger bodies of water. If farms within a watershed use herbicides and pesticides these pollutants will be picked up by flowing waters and make their way into larger water bodies, which is why it is so important for our local farms to have sustainable practices. The SLA works to conserve all parts of the Squam Lakes Watershed, so come learn how other members of the community help keep our waters free of contaminants and enjoy some pumpkin painting too!

Audience: All ages and families welcome! Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Halloween FUN!

As the spookiest holiday of the season ramps up in the Lakes Region, our members and locals turn on the GLOW! Take the afternoon and come see our many Catch the GLOW displays! Even make an evening out of it and grab some delicious food and drink while you’re pumpkin hunting!

Meredith Insurance Agency would like to welcome friends and families to stop by their beautiful pumpkin display from 10/10 through 10/12. These pumpkins have been specially created by the children at Kidwork’s Learning Center and Interlakes Daycare. This was made possible in partnership with the Meredith Rotary and Moulton’s Farm. We hope you visit and enjoy these priceless pumpkin masterpieces that have been lovingly made by the children in our community!

The Alton Business Association (ABA) is so excited to present the ABA “Great Pumpkin”! A huge thank you to Alton resident/pumpkin grower Steve Ellis, for his amazing efforts on growing this baby since the Spring! They’d also like to thank: Sunflower Gardens, Aubuchon Hardware and Alton Excavation for donating the beautiful mums, small pumpkins, hay bales and corn stalks! This display was a community effort and we’re so happy to share it with the town in Monument Square on Main Street!

Please stop by to check it out and snap a picture with it!! Be sure to tag the ABA and use #altongreatpumpkin !

The “Great Pumpkin” is just the kickoff to the 2nd Annual Harvest Happenings that’ll take place on 10/24 on Main St. in Alton. Stay tuned.

10/19-31 The Best Western Plus Landmark Inn in Laconia will have a lighted display of pumpkins carved by students from around the region including the Tilton School and Laconia schools. This display will continue to GROW through the end of October!

Come on by and visit the Bank of New Hampshire farm-themed pumpkin GLOW display! Beautiful pumpkins, cows, cornstalks and all the halloween fun from the farm. You can even say “hay” to the Pumpkin Fest scarecrow!
