DESCRIPTION:Experience an evening of exceptional music\, delicious food\, and fine wine in our intimate and relaxed setting\n\nComplimentary Wine Tasting at 4:30 to 5:00.\nDoors Open and Dinner Served at 5:00\nDinner Service Closes & Show starts at 6:00 PM (Drinks & Dessert served during show).\n\nAbout the show: \nTaylor O’Donnell\, vocals and piano\nDavid Thorne Scott\, vocals and bass\nChris Humphrey\, vocals\, trombone\, and drums\nPaul Pampinella\, vocals and guitar \nIt only takes 4 to put a nickel in a premodern jukebox of sweet vocal harmony. \nThe Vintage Vocal Quartet brings the big band era to life by singing while swinging on piano\, guitar\, bass\, and trumpet. \nThe group’s repertoire is inspired by groups like Glenn Miller’s Modernaires\, the Nat King Cole Trio\, the Andrews Sisters\, and Tommy Dorsey’s Pied Pipers\, as well as singers like Bing Crosby\, Frank Sinatra\, Ella Fitzgerald\, and Jo Stafford. \nThe VVQ has been delighting concert audiences\, lindy hoppers\, and swanky private events all over New England. They have performed with the Boston Pops\, the Melrose Symphony\, and the Cape Symphony\, as well as the Capitol City Jazz Orchestra. If you love vocal harmony and swing music\, the Vintage Vocal Quartet has your number! \nTaylor O’Donnell plays piano and sings the lead part. She is a contemporary vocalist who uses her deep roots in jazz\, folk\, and R&B to perform in a wide array of settings. Highlights of Taylor’s performing career have been an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show\, working with producer David Foster\, performing at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center\, working as a studio vocalist with Grammy-winning producer Rudy Perez\, and singing background vocals for singer-songwriter Ben Folds. She has performed with the Portland Symphony and has her own R&B band. Taylor teaches voice at Berklee College of Music\, Bowdoin College\, and the University of Southern Maine. \nDavid Thorne Scott plays bass and sings the alto part. His jazz album “Shade” was chosen as a top 5 CD by the Jazz Education Journal\, while Cadence Magazine says “he phrases like a saxophone player and is as slippery and hip as the young Mel Tormé. He has performed as a soloist with large ensembles like the Boston Pops and the Capital Jazz Orchestra and small groups like the Four Freshmen. David plays piano and sings original music on his pop/jazz crossover album “Hopeful Romantic\,” produced by Platinum award-winner Anthony Resta. \nChris Humphrey plays drums and trombone and sings the tenor part. A jazz/classical/pop performer from the Southern Maine/NH Seacoast area\, Chris has been dubbed an “outstanding talent” (Sheila Jordan) and “quite a creative force” (Roberta Davis). He has performed at Blue Note Jazz Clubs in New York\, Tokyo\, Jakarta\, and Fukuoka\, as well as jazz festivals throughout the United States and abroad. A highly-regarded educator\, Mr. Humphrey is in frequent demand as a clinician\, performer\, conductor\, arranger\, and composer. His current project is an album in tribute to the legendary trumpeter Clark Terry. All About Jazz says that Chris is “as nimble as an Olympic gymnast as he’s singing the ‘vocalesed’ lyrics and Terry’s note-for-note solos.” \nPaul Pampinella plays guitar and sings the baritone part. He is a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston and a veteran vocalist\, arranger/composer\, and clinician with two highly successful a cappella ensembles: Vox One and Five O’Clock Shadow. Paul has written\, arranged\, and produced songs on nine CDs between the two groups\, which have performed with the Boston Pops and Aaron Neville. Paul is on the faculty at Berklee College of Music; teaches voice\, guitar\, bass guitar\, piano\, theory\, and composition; and gives performances and workshops in the U.S. and Japan. \nA Listening Room Experience \nHermit Woods is excited to bring talented artists from New England and beyond to perform for you. Each performance will provide you with an intimate\, up-close\, and personal experience with the performing artists. We ask our audience to please refrain from talking during the featured show. Your silence will allow the artists and the audience to immerse themselves in the experience\, which is not otherwise possible in larger\, noisier environments. \nDoors open at 5:30 pm for a complimentary wine tasting. The Loft Doors open at 6:00. We encourage you to arrive early for our wine tasting and enjoy food and wine before the show. The kitchen will close at 7:00 pm\, with drinks and dessert available until 8:30. When the featured artists take the stage\, we will ask that the audience remain quiet during the performance. After the show\, we invite you to interact with the artists and purchase any music or merchandise offerings if available.
